Q's 2013 Chinese New Year Menu

Finally I manage to hold a very small sacle gathering with less than 10 pax. Normally each gathering we used to held are more than 50 pax less than 300 pax at our lovely home.  All food serve are home cook and these are menu for the night.

Raya Pot Luck 2012

This year I celebrate the office Hari Raya "Open House" at Flamingo hotel by the lake with all colleagues in admin office.  The buffet spread are all sponsor by everyone either buy from outside ie. Domino Pizza, KFC, Cake from Secret Recipe, Satay, Nasi Lemak & Lemang and home cooking ie Fried Bee Hoon, Salad, Cake Batik, Sambal Ikan Iblis & Ayam Lengkuas.

Every year without fail, everyone will enjoy the food and the company of each and everyone of us.  Hehehehe like my ex-colleagues used to say, where ever Q work for sure there are food around.  Well what can we say, everyone will enjoy nice food and party.  Right................

Like what the Bos said this is not the last event we are going to have as there are more to come.  So till the next coming event.   Wondering when will that be.....................................

Q's 2012 Cookies Collection

Raya is just two week from now and I just complete my range of cookies for this year.  They are Almond, Sunflower, Triple Chocolate, Cheery, Peanut and Raisin Cookies.  I normally bake my cookies as I use only butter in my ingredient.  I do not fancy margarine.  Those selling in the grocery store, market, shopping complex are using margarine and it is not that tasty.  Pricing of commercial cookies is expensive and not to my liking.  Since baking cookies is fun, I bake it just for my own consumption.

Week two another batch of cookies to add into 2012 collection.  There are Coconut Cookies, Nutty Rice Cripes and Hazelnut Cookies.  I guest that is enough for this year.

I also have range of cookies that I sell to my friends which are commonly serve in all Muslim house during Raya and they are Pineaaple Tart, Almond London, Chocolate Chips, Kuaci and Corn Flakes.

Q's Simple Brunch

It's awhile since I visited my own blog.  Today I would like to share with you another successful meal for my family.

Beef ball noodle which the soup I use the ready pre-pack Soto Paste I got from Cold Storage.

Loh Mai Fun which I frozen it and the Siew Mai I brought it from wet market.

Rice cake with Peanut Sauce.  While clearing the food storage, I found a packet of rice cube and pre-mix peanut sauce. As not to waste, let's eat it.

This is the best of all. I love it.  The fish is soooooooo fresh as it just out from sea.  I use Jenahak and chicken fillet sprinkle with seasoning and pan grill with butter.

My Valentine Gift 2012

Valentine comes and goes with a flick of finger leaving most of the love birds with hole in their wallet. Well like the old saying Love is Blind. Hehehe

In my young days I do not have to wait for Valentine Day for roses. I will sure to received my roses in every fornightly till there is no more place in the ofice and home for it. Sigh... I finally told him that it is waste of money to buy all these roses as it does not last long. So from that day onwards, :( no more flowers. Me and my BIG mouth. But at least I still have my gift during Valentine and Birthday.

Now after so so many year all these become nature death or what we say they take thing for guranted. Ha!

So finally this year 2012, he is not going to get away with it. The last men on my earth sure get the message loud and clear. So this is what he gave me......... What can you say. D, Happy Valentine and thanks for everything.

Visiting to Old Folk Home

It has been a long time since I visited an old folk home. To think of it, the last time were in year 2004. Ever since then I did not step into these home. Some of these old folk are there against their will and or no home to go. Very sad........


I tell myself I'm going to visit these places but it did not happen as there're always tomorrow till 02nd February 2012. A team of us visited an old folk home in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. This is intiated by our General Manager.

This week we mix n match our own pizza. "Chun Pieh" in hokkien is one dish that is hard to find here in Klang Valley. Normally "Chun Pieh" can be found in Penang.

This year eve of eve Chinese New Year falls on Saturday and it is also my off day.  So we did not plan to eat out.  After a few round of food tasting prepare by one of the Chinese Chef, it gave me some idea of what to prepare for this year.

Sarah's 10th Birthday

Sarah's 10th birthday comes earlier. It's not much but the company that 's count.  This time I bake my own birthday cake for her.  I have yet to give a name to this cake.  Maybe you would like to suggest one.

Weekend Menu #2

Fruity weekend. I let the picture paint the words.

A friend of my brought a famous Lychee Cake from one of the outlets in Klang Valley.  I forgotten the outlet name.  It taste okay lah but a bit sweet and the sponge is soggy.

Applying the basic methods I did it. My very first Lychee Cake and I'll let this friend of my be the judge.  With the same idea, my next cake will be Manggo, Strawberry or any fruits.

2011 Raya Open House

It's Raya Open House again and is time for get together, meet-up with old friends, food, drinks and etc.  We just had our open house last night and it is trilling.  We did not set-up canopy and are praying and hopping that it will not rain during the event.  Sigh............ it rain the whole morning and stop in the afternoon and started again in the night.  Lucky for us is that when it start to rain most of our guest already left leaving behind are only our close friend and neighbour.

The spread for this Raya is a simply menu.

The guests start to arrive as early as 7.20pm and by that time my husband and I were not even ready yet.  We excuse ourselves and quickly get ready before more of our friends arrived. The event start well and ends well.  By the time we clear and hit the pillow is already 3 am in the morning.  As matter of fact, most of our event we hosted ends around this time.  

We do not expect anything in return from our friends.  But being Malaysian we always love to share. Thanks a lot for all this lovely gifts

To all our friends, we wish to say thank you to you and your family for spending time with us to make our 2011 Raya Open House a successful & remembrance event.  He hope you and family did enjoy the spread and hope to see all of you soon.
