Sarah's Marble Cake

Who say baking is no fun.  You are wrong. Baking will be fun if you are daring enough to mix & match. This is what I always told my daughter.
On Tuesday she saw how I mix & match and transform it to the marble cake show on the left side of the photo. Yesterday as she so bored and nothing to do she apply the mix & match concept by baking her own version of Marble Cake as shown in the right top and bottom picture.  What you think about her cake.  Well what can I say. With immediate effect she can take over my duty of baking cakes.  Good job Sarah.
Here is Sarah’s recipe and do try it out.

Marble Cake (Orange Chocolate)
Ingredients
250 gm                  Butter
250 gm                  Blue key flour
200 gm                  Icing Sugar
5 no.                      Egg (Grad B)
1 tsp                      Baking powder
1 pkt                      Orange peel
50 gm                    Chocolate powder

Method
1.       Mixed butter and icing sugar till fluffy.
2.       Add egg one by one.
3.       Heat-up oven at 180°C for 15 minutes
4.       Add in flour
5.       Divide the mixture to 2 portion (3/4 and ¼)
6.       Add in the orange peel to the ¾ portion

Will you believe if I tell you that the cookies you looking at is bake by my daughter Sarah by herself. The Almond Cookies is crunchy.
Well ,………………………………… you let me know okay?

To my niece and those of you girls that have yet to try your hand on any cooking or baking,  give it a thought.  If a nine years old child can do it by herself, why not you.

Happy cooking and baking.

Dark Moist Chocolate Cake

Yeah................. it's Friday and tomorrow is my off day.

Before I get diverted, the cake on the right is origin from Sarawak. It taste marvelous but the person who bake it has change profession from a baker to a caterer.  She name’s the cake as Chocolate Layer cake and she sold it at RM80 per number.  After so many years searching high and low for the same cake in Kuala Lumpur, I eventually give-up. Until one day I try baking the Dark Moist Chocolate cake and to my surprise, it taste almost the same with the one I purchase from Sarawak.  Well, like the saying if you can't have it the second best also can.  So my version of the cake is what you see on the top photo.  I'm only charging RM40/kg.

Sugee Cake

Christmas just round the corner.  Why not try serving Sugee Cake instead of the traditional Mixed Fruits Cake.
Allow me to introduce Sugee Cake to you.  Sugee Cake is made from Semolina flour instead of the normal flour, with 15 numbers of egg yolk and it has various type of ingredient add to it i.e. Raisin, Orange Peel, Preserved Winter Melon and Almond.  This cake is unique as it need at least 6 hours for the sugee flour and butter to sit before you add the rest of the ingredient in.
So I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out why it is so difficult to find it in the market.  Well, if you like to give it a try I would be glad to bake it for you.  It is only price at RM60 per kg (8”x8”).  I have two numbers to bake this Sunday and I will have a better photo to show you.
Just let me know if you would like to order……. He he he..

Wait and see how my fish head curry will look like...............
